Trade Control Analyst

Job Description

Our client, a major energy-sector firm, is seeking a Trade Control Analyst for a short-term assignment supporting trade verification, exposure review, and reporting accuracy across physical and financial commodity transactions. This role works closely with Trading, Risk, Finance, and Operations to ensure deals are captured correctly and key data remains reliable and compliant.

Responsibilities

  • Review new trades and amendments for accuracy and alignment with internal policies.
  • Assess exposures and pricing structures across U.S. energy products.
  • Work with Market Risk and Trading to resolve valuation and data discrepancies.
  • Maintain clean audit trails and support reliable trade capture within the ETRM system.
  • Contribute to control reviews and process improvements throughout the trade lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Accounting, or related field.
  • Experience with ETRM systems (Horizon preferred) and strong Excel/Power BI skills.
  • Background in U.S. physical commodities (gas, oil) and familiarity with key benchmarks.
  • Understanding of P&L concepts and common risk metrics.
